Bedrooms

We went with a darker paint for the bedrooms. Still very rich but darker and calmer. Its called cappuccino and it hits the nail on the head because that is the color. Also turned out very well. Kelly got her first paint experience today and painted both bedrrooms all by herself and did a great job.

Suh Weet!

Here is the finished paint in the living room/dining room/kitchen. The picture doesn't do it justice, it is a very rich golden tan called carmelized cream or something like that. Really brightens the place up. Aunt Lisa and Kelly did most of the painting on it and

we're very pleased. It gives the room a very soft inviting glow when the sun goes down and you have to turn on the lights.

Ta Da!

The drywall is up and finished and painting has commenced. Dad and I slapped a coat of primer on it one day after school and we are putting the color coats on Saturday.

Pantry

Due to a limited amount of cabinet space, we decided to drop in a pantry in the corner of the kitchen to give us more storage.

First Sheet!

Sorry for the delay in posts. It's been a busy few weeks. Here's the first sheet of drywall. Contrary to what the picture portrays Bobby really did work that day. Our motto of the day was "We're not good, but we're slow." But we got all the ceiling done. My pitch of the day is when hanging ceiling go rent a drywall lift. It was worth its weight in gold. $30 at Bosleys. A special thanks

to everyone who helped out we couldn't have gotten it done without you.

Railing

Dad and I got the rails up around the stairs and it turned out as good as I had envisioned. We made sure to lower the railings enough so that no baby heads could get through there. Rails would have turned out better but Ben Moore came over for 15 minutes and decided to take over and ruined it. haha. just kidding. Looks pretty awesome and very pleased. As soon as wiring is done up goes the dry wall.

Our Child.....

Big Red Barn

Here's the barn to house all of Kelly's goats. Which apparently we will have an abundance of.

Blackwater Falls

Awesome painting of Blackwater Falls in the hall that was painted there and we are going to keep it. We plan on putting a can light above it to givie it a pretty cool feel and accent it some.

To give you clue of what all is going on in the upstairs.... Originally there were 3 bedrooms a bathroom a very long skinny living room, kitchen/dining room. What we decided we wanted to do was open it up a good bit. In the picture the Kitchen/Dining room is in the very back while the long living room is to the left and to the right the bedroom and the stairs beyond. We took out the bedroom and are going to put up a beam running the length of the house to really open it up. We are going to put in place log posts to hold it up as well as basically having an open stairwell with a log railing around it. I think it will turn out very well. I have all these visions and so far Kelly has trusted me (which I greatly appreciate) and is giving me a lot of freedom to do this. She has a lot of decor already picked out that is going to be a great compliment. The logs will add to the country feel as well as just be pretty sweet. Sorry I didn't get a great angle on this picture but you the the idea.

View...

Here's a view out the back door. I want to eventually put a fire ring out there for hanging out and catching stuff on fire with my crew. Also for me and my snicker to gaze out in the evenings at the great outdoors and cuddle.

Inside...

Sorry for no recent posts. My internet has been running kinda rough lately so I had to put this on hold. One of the big things I wanted to do with the interior especially the living room was to lighten it up a good bit. The windows were few and we have a beautiful view out the back and I wanted to use that so I put in a french door overlooking our backyard. I think it turned out pretty good. We got a door with blinds in between the panes of the glass which is pretty awesome and hope it works well for us.

Our first room was the upstairs bathroom. We went with a country outdoor theme. We really liked the sink top and really didn't change a lot. We added a new light, paint, and took out the glass shower doors and put in a curved shower rod which Kelly once used in a hotel and then had to have one. It is really nice and provides extra room inside the shower without really taking up any room on the outside. Dad and I also put down ceramic tile which turned out wonderful.

Welcome

I'm new to this blogging thing but this is going to be a site that I will use for right now to keep friends and family updated on how the house remodeling is coming along, as well as anything anyone is interested in involving my life as uneventful as it is.

For those who are reading this and are not aware I have bought my Nanny and Pappaw's house right outside of Elizabeth, WV. I am currently doing some remodelling in hopes of getting it finished before I get married in June to to the love of my life Kelly O'Connor.
